Terms of use
Everything on this site is educational material, not advice and not an offer to trade.
Educational material, not advice
The content on Ibadan Account is educational material only. It is not advice, not a recommendation and not an offer to buy or sell gold or any other instrument. Nothing here is tailored to your money, your income or your goals, and it should not be treated as a personal plan.
Ibadan Account is not a broker, bank or licensed adviser, and it holds no licence from the SEC Nigeria or any other authority. Any decision to trade is yours, and it should be taken with a firm you have checked yourself, including on the SEC Nigeria register of capital market operators.
Ibadan Account publishes gold market information and does not give personal investment advice
Ibadan Account is an information publisher about gold (XAU/USD) trading, not a licensed investment adviser, and nothing on this site is a personal recommendation to buy or sell. The material explains how the instrument works, how margin and pips are calculated, and what to check before using a broker. It does not consider your income, your existing holdings, your risk tolerance or your goals, so it cannot tell you whether a trade suits you. If you need a recommendation for your own situation, speak to a person authorised to give one; the SEC Nigeria register of capital market operators is where you confirm who is registered locally.
Ibadan Account does not execute orders, hold client money, or act as a broker, fund manager or portfolio manager. Every order you place goes to the broker you choose, on that broker's platform and under that broker's client agreement. When the site describes FxPro, it is describing a third-party service, not offering it as our own product. Your account, your deposit, your margin call and your withdrawal are between you and that firm. We do not have access to your trading account and cannot place, close or reverse a trade for you, whatever the reason.
Ibadan Account content is general education written for readers in Nigeria, and it stays general on purpose. It does not know your naira budget, your bank transfer limits or your card limits, so it cannot size a position for you. It cannot say whether gold suits your portfolio or whether now is a good moment to trade. Any example figure, such as the roughly $85.50 margin needed for a 0.10-lot gold position at 1:200, is an illustration of the arithmetic, not a suggestion that you should take that position. Treat every page as background reading before you make your own decision.
Dated figures and affiliate links
Figures are dated and must be verified with the broker before you rely on them. Terms, entities and funding routes change, and a figure read on one date may not hold on another. Where sources conflict, the page says so rather than picking the convenient number.
Some links are affiliate links, which means the desk may be paid a referral fee if you open an account through them. Your relationship is with the broker, not with Ibadan Account, and the broker's own terms, fees and policies govern your account.
The law that applies to these terms and to your use of Ibadan Account
The laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria govern these terms, and the Nigerian courts have jurisdiction over any dispute about the site. That applies to how the content is published, how the affiliate disclosure is made, and how any complaint about the writing is handled. It does not govern your trading account with FxPro, which is a separate contract with a separate entity, FxPro Markets Direct Costa Rica Latam SRL, and will be governed by whatever law that client agreement names. Read that agreement if you want to know where a broker dispute would be heard.
Nothing on Ibadan Account is an offer of a financial service in Nigeria, and the site does not claim to be regulated by the SEC Nigeria. The Securities and Exchange Commission Nigeria is the local authority for capital market operators, and the caveat we repeat is the practical one: FxPro is licensed by the FCA in the UK, by CySEC and by the FSCA, and you should confirm any broker on the SEC Nigeria register of capital market operators. That register is where Nigerian registration is checked, not this site.
Where a Nigerian consumer protection rule gives you a right that cannot be waived by a contract term, that rule prevails over anything written here. Where the terms of a broker you use conflict with anything on this site, the broker's terms govern your account, because they are the contract you signed. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. The governing-law sentence is deliberately narrow: it covers the publication, not your trades, not your deposits, and not the broker's handling of your withdrawal.
How Ibadan Account publishes changes to these terms
Ibadan Account publishes a changed version of these terms on this page, with the revision date shown at the top, and the new text takes effect when it is posted. There is no separate notice by email, because the site does not hold a reader account for you. If you want to know what changed, compare the current page with the version you read before; the revision date is the marker. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the terms as they then stand, so check the date when a page matters to you.
A change that affects the affiliate disclosure or the liability section is published in the same place and in the same way as any other change, with the revised wording visible rather than summarised. We do not announce a change and leave the old text in place. Where a fact supplied by a third party changes, such as the leverage cap, the page is rewritten to say what is now known and what remains unverified, rather than quietly editing a number. The revision date moves whenever the substance of the page moves.
Ibadan Account does not backdate a revision, and it does not remove a correction from the record without saying so. If a figure was wrong, the corrected page states the current position and the revision date reflects the correction. Readers in Nigeria who relied on an earlier version should treat the current page as the operative one. Because the site is information rather than a service, there is no account to close and no notice period to serve; the published text on this page is the whole of the terms in force at any time.
The affiliate relationship behind links to FxPro is disclosed here in full
Ibadan Account earns a commission from FxPro when a reader opens an account through a link on this site, and that payment is the commercial relationship behind those links. The commission is paid by the broker, not by you, and it does not change the price you pay to trade. It does mean we benefit financially if you sign up with FxPro rather than another firm. We state this plainly because a reader deciding where to put money in naira should know who gains from the introduction. The commission arrangement does not give us access to your account or a share of your losses.
The affiliate payment does not buy a favourable description of FxPro, and it does not make the broker suitable for you. We do not accept payment to hide a risk, to invent a figure, or to describe a cost as low when we were not given a number for it. Where we do not have a fact, such as the exact spread, commission, swap or minimum deposit, we say what that cost depends on instead of supplying a figure. If you open an account elsewhere, this site earns nothing, and that is an outcome we accept.
You are free to reach FxPro without using our links, and the broker's own website will give you the same account terms. Before you deposit anything, read the broker's client agreement, its fee schedule and its withdrawal rules yourself, and confirm the firm on the SEC Nigeria register of capital market operators. Our affiliate disclosure sits alongside the educational purpose of the site: the commission supports the writing, but it does not turn the writing into advice, and it does not make us responsible for how the broker handles your money.
Limits of liability: what Ibadan Account is and is not responsible for
Ibadan Account is not liable for trading losses you suffer, because the decisions and the orders are yours and the execution is the broker's. Gold CFDs are high-risk and you can lose more than you expect, including your whole deposit; that risk sits with you, not with an information site. We are not responsible for a broker's platform outage, a rejected order, a delayed withdrawal, a margin call, or a change in that broker's terms. We are also not responsible for a bank transfer that arrives late or a card payment that is declined by your bank.
Ibadan Account is not liable for errors in third-party material or for figures that were correct when written and have since changed. Leverage is the clearest example: the material notes that up to 1:200 is available via the offshore entity serving Nigeria, while one review cited 1:30 or 1:20 caps, and that conflict was not verified. We describe that uncertainty rather than resolve it, and you should confirm the current cap with the broker before you rely on it. The worked margin figure of about $85.50 for 0.10 lots is tied to that same unverified assumption.
Ibadan Account provides the material as it is, without a promise that it is complete or current for your circumstances. To the extent the law allows, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the site, including lost profit or lost opportunity. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and nothing here limits your statutory rights as a consumer in Nigeria. If a page is wrong, tell us and we will correct it; correction is the remedy we can offer, because we did not take your deposit and we cannot return your losses.
What you are accepting when you read Ibadan Account material on gold
By reading Ibadan Account you accept that the material is general information about gold (XAU/USD) and that you use it at your own discretion. You accept that one standard lot is 100 oz and one pip is 0.01, that the reference price near 4275.0 is an illustration, and that live prices move. You accept that leverage up to 1:200 via the offshore entity is a cap, not a target, and that the conflicting 1:30 or 1:20 caps cited in one review were not verified. You accept that no page tells you to trade.
You accept that any deposit you make is made in naira or another currency through a method the broker supports, such as a local NGN bank transfer, a Visa or Mastercard debit card, an e-payment or crypto, and that the broker's rules govern that payment. You accept that Ibadan Account does not receive, hold or return that money. You accept that a margin figure such as about $85.50 for 0.10 lots depends on the leverage actually applied to your account, and that your own broker statement, not this site, is the record of your margin.
You accept that you will confirm the broker yourself on the SEC Nigeria register of capital market operators before funding, and that you will read the broker's client agreement, fee schedule and withdrawal rules. You accept that Ibadan Account cannot resolve a dispute with FxPro and that the affiliate commission disclosed above does not make it a party to your account. You accept that the law of the Federal Republic of Nigeria governs these terms, and that the current version on this page, with its revision date, is the version that applies to you.
The risk in CFDs on gold
CFDs on gold carry a high risk of loss and most retail accounts lose money. Leverage, which can be up to 1:200 via the offshore entity serving Nigeria, magnifies both gains and losses, and a cap is not a setting to aim at. Gold is one instrument, with 1 lot equal to 100 oz and one pip equal to 0.01, and it can move fast.
Do not trade with money you cannot afford to lose, and do not treat any figure on this site as a promise of an outcome. The desk does not guarantee results and does not manage money.
